Register and Vote! It's important for every eligible voter to register and exercise their right to vote. I'd like to encourage you to do so, and list some resources to help you find more information. RegisterIf you have moved since the last time you registered, you must register again. The deadline for voter registration in California is 15 days before the election, which is October 18, 2004. If you are eligible to vote, you can register to vote in any of the following ways:
VoteYou can also vote by submitting an Absentee Ballot between October 10, 2000 and Election Day. Mail it in or drop it off at any polling place in your county or at the county elections office. See http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections_m.htm for information and a downloadable form. You can also use the Absentee Ballot form included in your Sample Ballot and voter information pamphlet. ResourcesThere's a lot of useful information about this year's election and ballot at the California Secretary of State site: http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections.htm. There are of course many web sites where you can get evaluations and positions on the ballot issues and candidates from various organizations. It's often interesting to see where other groups stand on some issues, but of course no one can tell you how to vote; you should form your own opinions.
